No, you can't vote for the person who promises to pull the brake when they become the murder trolley driver, that will only embolden the people who want to turn the headlights on and off and make spooky ghost noises while murdering people.

But somehow also at the same time, you guys are authoritarian and worship other authoritarians, such as Lenin, Stalin, Putin, Xi, and Mao, all equally horrible dictators enjoy desired power over helping people. Maybe depends on the lib which argument they go with, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear both come out of the same one.

Me: If you become part of the system how many people will you have to kill before you can make real change?

Lib: I don't know, I'll just keep killing until there's an opportunity

Me: what if you don't see an opportunity?

Lib: I'll just keep killing, this system is great actually

The trolley killing infinite people always reminds me of this:

There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart that you can't take part! You can't even passively take part! And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus -- and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it -- that unless you're free the machine will be prevented from working at all!!

    -Mario Savio

And of course, the song I know it from
