I am really looking forward to this one. It's giving me a lot of nostalgia for Mechwarrior 4 as a kid (as well as Mechassault). I haven't ever played the old armored core games, but the fast paced mech combat implementation in this one is looking really neat.
MechWarrior was always big, slow, stompy robots, while Armored Core is more speedy slidey robots that fly a bit. MW is more American mecha, while AC is closer to the Japanese style mecha. So the gameplay is markedly different.
Not that I'm knocking either one, both are awesome.
No, I never liked the look or implementation of Mechwarrior online, or Mechwarrior 5 for that matter. It's the vibes that I'm getting the nostalgia for, not necessarily the actual mechanics. The armored core mechanics look pretty sleek and modernized.
