This has been kicking around in my brain for months now so here goes. One thing I've noticed from the increased focus on BLM is people calling for everyone to patronize black-owned businesses. This has been nagging at me because this country has no solution for anything other than capitalism. And I get it and it's probably not that bad because most of these businesses are small businesses owned by local people. I just don't know how that fixes any problems with the police shooting black people. Anyone noticed this or have a problem with it?

Could capitalism lessen it? Yes, to the extent that you might find among places like Western Europe, where there is still definitely police violence, but it is not as bad as the US. Could it fix it? No, the police are an outgrowth of the class system and you can't fix police violence without abolishing the class system, and there is no capitalism without a class system.
