Reposting already means something quite different and distinct from the concept of retweeting in internet lingo and it has negative connotations. Being told your content got reposted conjures up images of some asshole cropping out your watermark from an image or video and posting it as their own. Alternatively you think of someone posting a tired meme for the 9000th time
