Former U. S. Representative Beto O'Rourke will be joining the faculty at Texas State University in San Marcos in the spring. The university confirmed O'Rourke will be teaching Texas politics in the spring 2021 semester, pending finalization of his hiring. O'Rourke previously ran for Senate against incumbent Ted Cruz, and launched a campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination that eventually went to former Vice President Joe Biden.
