      People in many parts of the Arctic consider it a derogatory term because it was widely used by racist, non-native colonizers.

      I dunno if "slur" is the right word but I couldn't think of any other word to define its grossness

        Yeah though maybe not created to be a slur iirc it was a name an outside tribe called the inuit, not one they ever gave themselves, which is enough reason to avoid it. I think it was the official name for the indigenous of canada until like the 80s
