I think a lot of these weirdos 100% believe that Trump is about to have dictatorial-level power for the indefinite future, so any extra effort to stroke him off now is going to pay unlimited dividends in the future. It's also a way of signaling total sycophantic loyalty to the rest of the collection of freaks in Trump's base.
