I just had to share some exciting news! I recently reconnected with someone I dated long ago when my nesting partner and I opened up our relationship. It's been years since we last saw each other, and it felt fantastic to meet in person again! Looking back, I realize our original split came down to my immaturity, but they were incredibly gracious and welcomed me back into their life.
I have to admit, I’m a little worried about how things might be with my nesting partner, but they’ve reassured me that they’re feeling compersion, which is such a relief! Overall, I'm just over the moon about this joyful poly experience and grateful for the chance to see my previous partner again. It feels so good to share this happy moment!
That's awesome. One of the things I like about polyamory is that relationships can go up and down at will like this
I am as well(edit: i agree that is one of the benefits of polyam as a relationship structure) , I think I can come back to my new "former" partner as an improved person thanks to having the good sense to see how valuable of a person there were/are to me and try to gracefully bow out for a while to really focus on growing into the kind of partner they and my nesting partner deserve.
