A take: Shaun could of talked about feminism and how this objectification affects women, our confidence, self worth etc and if he wanted to talk about cis het white men controlling a hobby then destroying women's mental health would surely be relevant there?

He just avoided any talk about impacts of women or feminism bar one bit about the south Korean model they used but even she had her body and face mutated into some doll with huge tit's so why not mention how that must make her and other women feel? What about how even a beautiful top earning model wasn't good enough and how this game studio and game helps propagate this shit? He hardly tore that open. More just "the frog men misrepresented the situation so hahaha gotcha".

Hardly an ally is he if the perfect opportunity to discuss and educate on the damage this can do to women etc and instead imo side step it. Like if male allies won't help defend feminism or educate other men then what's the point of them?

The whole video was just so male centric. Booooooooooo.

I think this might be a case of "This is already 2 hours long I gotta stop somewhere", though to counter my own point this is Shaun and he usually isn't worried about video length.

Well exactly, I love Shaun but that video had a minimum of 30 minutes of self indulgent gotchas that he could of repurposed and it's like my dude pick a lane, are you a video essayist or a more eloquent badempanada/theKavernacle drama recap youtuber?

If he wants to make a 2 hour video of him running circles around those freaks then I'll watch it and love it but if you're going to talk about the objectification of women in video games, then do the literal bare minimum and talk about feminism, objectification impact acutely and chronically on women and omg put the fucking game studio into actual context.

It's south korea where a huge feminist movement specifically rejecting men over violent misogyny is taking place. Is there nothing he can think to say about that cultural context and how it MIGHT inform the games design?
