it's been kind of fun watching gamergate types become the same thing they rallied against. They're preachy, scold everyone, they're terminally online and complain about games they don't even play. They even make lists of games that are too woke, like some kind of hollywood blacklist. They are the exact mirror image of the stereotypical annoying tumblr SJW from 2014. They have public meltdowns from just seeing "they/them" in a character creator.

A 56 year old former game dev spends vast amounts of time on twitter stoking up nonsense controversy that essentially boils down to claims of a Marxist conspiracy to replace characters in games that cater to white cis straight male interests with...otherwise normal looking women. The conspiracy theory even claims putting a black woman or a gay man in a game is part of the replacement strategy.
It's basically cultural Marxism and great replacement theory, except somehow even more stupid because it's about video games targeted at horny 15 year old boys. And the people most mad about this non-issue are middle aged men with youtube channels where they complain about the wokes. At one point Shaun shows clips of youtube reviewers complaining about the portrayal of the Greek god Hephaestus in the game Hades 2. The game presents Hephaestus using a wheelchair, which the youtube chuds took to be pandering, despite a disabled Hephaestus being accurate to Greek mythology. Choice quotes like "Why is a GOD in a wheelchair?" There are a few ancient pots showing Hephaestus in a wheelchair, which Shaun shows.

Most of them probably won't even play it, plus it seems like a derivative mediocre sort of game anyway. I've personally played a bit and it feels like a mix between a clunky Nier: Automata and a clunky Sekiro. It's not the worst game I've ever played, but it's nothing special.

Stellar Blade got some mild pushback for Eve (character in the picture) being blandly designed so it became the big anti-woke game of the hour. Then when it released there was some minor changes to make two costumes slightly less horny for the full release and the manchildren became enraged at this betrayal.
