Just spent the evening with my family in suburban white America. Drove through the neighborhood to find a war of Trump/Biden signs with Trump winning by a wide majority. Parents rattled on about China making COVID in a lab and trying to kill off the old people in the US.
Yes because when you have tremendous privilege, you need to believe that you have what you have because you have self-control, discipline, and a good work ethic. Otherwise you can't feel superior to others. And then the inverse must be true, that people who don't have wealth are lazy and undisciplined.
