My birthday is this month and I'd like to do something for it, but all my friends abandoned me when I got sick, I've got no-one to hang out with. It's cold outside and I'm recovering from a stroke and still have trouble walking, so I'd need to do something in my own home. It also needs to be free as I have no income at all, so things like renting a film off amazon or whatever are off limits.
Any suggestions? Years ago I would have celebrated with some magic mushrooms but aside from the financial aspect, I don't even know who to get them off any more. I'm totally out of ideas. Just something that will make the day feel a bit special and different from every other day.
Video games are an option but maybe we can do a watch party on hextube? You'd have to speak with the users that run that though.
Get in contact with @Grebgreb@hexbear.net, @wombat@hexbear.net, as they are the two people most responsible for running Hextube.
I think a watch party is a great idea, and maybe @DisabledAceSocialist@hexbear.net can choose the movie or something.
Do you like video games? I can point you in the direction of tons of free games if you've got a phone that can handle emulation or a laptop/desktop puter.
So here's a site that has emulators for console and PC systems.
This is reddit's megathread for games, pick what you want either console or PC.
There's also itch.io for free indie PC games and demos.
Let me know if you need any help.
I would listen to a bunch of music throughout the day, make myself a nice big bowl or popcorn and then pirate a movie.
What about a Webfishing party? If you don’t have a copy I’d be happy to gift you one!
Lots of fun movies could be pirated. If you already have some supplies, arts and crafts can be fun.
Do you have steam?
I know I have a small pile of game codes from bundles that I have bought for specific games, leaving other codes unredeemed that have piled up over time. I'm kinda picky with what games and especially what genres I like and I'm not really into the gaming scene much so idk anything about most of the unredeemed game codes. I also don't really understand if codes are region-locked or not because I've never traded codes (I'm not in the same country as you are.)
So I guess what I'm saying is that I have no idea if it will work, I assume it will but there's only one way to find out. I also have no idea whether the games are any good or if you'll like them but I can send you a list of what I have so you can pick over them or I can just hand all of them onto you if you like.
Tbh it doesn't seem like much of a gift to me because it feels like more of a hand-me-down than anything but... there might be something in there that you like and it might be nice to have a few new games for you to try out, even if they aren't the top-ranked AAA games. Who knows?
Thanks so much for the offer. I've never used steam before, but I'll certainly try it.
Cool, it's just a program that manages game purchases and a game library on your computer.
Do you want me to send you a DM with all the spare game codes I have?
Okay cool, I'll send you a message within the next 24 hours with codes and you will receive the ✨special birthday mystery bundle✨
Edit: Message sent!
