Among those who plan to vote for Trump, 71% feel that what he tells them is true — higher than the results for friends and family (63%), conservative media figures (56%) or religious leaders (42%)

Blue MAGA really can't compete for cult-like adoration of their leader

The more than religious leaders part is what gets me, especially since these people claim to be so pious

Though I suppose that's a consequence of Protestantism and the whole "God speaks to me directly" aspect of it

True but there were those rare bizarre figures who were building like cardboard and tinfoil altars to Biden, Obama, and other Democratic media personalities at around the time of Biden's inauguration (and then voluntarily posting images of these altars online as though they thought it was normal and even praiseworthy to do this).

BlueAnon is an amazing thing. QAnon followers never got the storm, but BlueAnon is living through the storm right now with Trump's eighty pending felony cases. BlueAnon is in such a similar situation to QAnon folks at this stage in Trump's presidency—basically, "Trump is president, but everything is still fucked up, my shitty small business is about to go bankrupt, and I still can't stop thinking about how much I hate Hillary," except it's "Biden's president, but everyone around me is sick, everything on the news is worse every day, nothing works, I have more money than I ever thought possible yet feel completely miserable, and still can't stop thinking about how much I hate Trump/Putin."

It's just interesting to see how these two competing groups of totally deluded people are basically rejecting material reality in order to build their own realities. QAnon did the capitol riot while BlueAnon is in the process of attempting to imprison Trump before he manages to win back the presidency. The first strategy really blew up in QAnon's face and, as for the second, I really doubt I'm alone in thinking that liberals are playing with fire, even if Trump is most certainly a criminal who belongs in prison.

I probably trust Xi Jinping more than I trust my antivax uncle or whatever, so who can blame them?

I guess it goes both ways. I've really given up on some family that hopped on the Trump Train.
