The issue is that the argument about it being less of a hellscape is entirely american-centric. Biden and the Dems as a whole have pivoted to the right of Trump and aspire to be the effective imperialists that put fear back into the hearts of the enemies of the US beast, that's not exactly less of a hellscape.

What exactly is the evidence that Biden would be more of an imperialist than Trump? Among other things, drone strikes have grown under Trump, Trump supported the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Trump ok'd an airstrike on an international Iranian airport, Trump has escalated tensions with Iran, Trump wants to end relations with Cuba, his administration tried to coup Maduro. Not to mention that Trump's climate policy is likely to have more irreversible damage to the global south than Biden's. Not saying Biden wouldn't have done some of these things, but what exactly makes you think he would be worse ?

Okay, I can understand why you might think the presidential election is a time sink, but do you also think local elections are time sinks? Because when you encourage people to vote for presidential elections, you're also encouraging them to vote in their local elections.

For me personally the presidential election served as a gateway get involved in local politics. Like I said, just my personal experience- would be interested to learn how much that's the case for other
