I've lurked since the early days but I'm tryna be more social so I'll give this a go.

I'm a big music head: house, techno, club, emo, shoegaze, and ambient are usually where I reside genre-wise. I'm currently doing cringe exposure therapy aka learning to DJ.

I'm something of a gardener. Growing food is cool but lately I've been getting more into native plants and permaculture.

I'm trying to get a reading habit going too for philosophy, theology, and history. Of course I'm a leftist but I would like to be much better read on theory especially in the Black radical tradition.

Also kind of a Weird Shit lover so anything conspiracy/paranormal gets my attention. I'd call it a guilty pleasure but the mainstreaming of conspiracy culture has been fascinating and seems to be key to understanding the political moment we're in.

I'm a programmer so that's also fun (sometimes).

That's it, I guess. Thanks for reading!

The importance of the villain was not overlooked, of course one of the happiest of all was Gladvillain.

Care for a recommendation? I like the podcast Otherworld. It's pretty fun and the host approaches the guests in a very open-minded way that's really engaging. Also he's at least comrade-adjacent, given that I first learned of this podcast when he was a guest on TrueAnon.

I was just thinking that I need to get some new podcasts in my rotation. Otherworld looks great, thanks!

Always good to hear. I was a casual listener to a fairly popular paranormal podcast that turned out to have awful right wing hosts. Not uncommon for this space, unfortunately.

I know, it's hard to find this left-adjacent conspiracy/paranormal stuff aside from the major podcasts we're all familiar with. I said I first heard him on Trueanon, but I'm actually fairly certain it was on Rev Left, which is even better in my book. I just can't seem to figure out what episode it was.

Otherworld is very fun, some episodes are really goddamn scary, some kinda boring, and sometimes it stretches believability, but I think anyone who enjoys paranormal stuff is already ready and willing to suspend disbelief a little bit.

Ooohhh is there anything like this that you're especially into at the moment? Also, do you ever listen to Ghost Stories For The End Of The World by any chance? I think that's probably my favorite conspiracy podcast right now.

Not niche at all but my absolute fav conspiracy podcast is Qanon Anonymous.

For more paranormal stuff Where Did The Road Go, Strange Familiars, Radio Misterioso, and Conspirinormal are great. They're not polished story telling shows at all but more informal discussion and interviews. Been listening for years and I still appreciate them. They all cover different topics but the hosts frequently guest on each others' shows. Also not leftists but great nonetheless.

Also, do you ever listen to Ghost Stories For The End Of The World by any chance?

No but this looks really interesting! I'm definitely gonna give it a listen.

Looking at the topics they cover, you might enjoy The Farm Podcast by Recluse. He's done a few Conspirinormal eps so I've been meaning to start listening. There's also Subliminal Jihad, Programmed to Chill, and Decode. I've got em in my podcast app but haven't dived in too deeply. (Sometimes the parapolitical stuff can be a little dark/heavy for me)

Hope this wasn't too much lol.

Not at all! This is a fantastic list. I'm definitely going to check out The Farm Podcast, as well as the others you mentioned. I haven't been as into paranormal stuff lately, but I used to be into that more, and so maybe I'll check those ones as well.
