My landlord raised my rent to $800 instead of $750, and it's not a good vibe. I'm still waiting for jobs to get back to me too. I got an offer, but they are taking forever. I even tried to follow up, but I'm gonna adamantly keep the job search going. I'm trying to get out of unemployment as soon as I can.

I feel guilty in doing so, but since the alternative is homelessness which could inevitably mean the worst, I'm just trying to do whatever I can to keep myself alive. Anyone who is willing to help is greatly appreciated.

I thank everyone who's helped me get essentials for the month so far. Because of your generosity, I was able to get food, hygiene products, and even make some other important payments like my internet and phone bill. Care-Comrade

I have Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal, so if you are willing to help and need one of those handles, just PM me, and I'll get it over to you. Thank you ❤️

Money raised for rent so far: $25 (Due January 1st)

How privileged are you? Are you unaware of the fact that some people are literally in circumstances where they have no access to family whatsoever, no access to easy employment, and are working with only very limited resources? This is just victim blaming. To act like I, as a Black trans person in a highly reactionary state who has been disowned by basically all of my loved ones simply by existing, am just constantly in a bad situation because I didn't "pull myself up by my bootstraps" is deeply unserious and shows that your ability to truly understand material conditions is below zero. Additionally, even if I were to push that aside, giving "advice" is against the rules of this community. What's actually fascinating is that posting on this comm and finding ways to make money are not mutually exclusive. I'm doing both simultaneously, but the matter is not something that's going to be solved easily, as you can see. Getting employed clearly isn't easy shit, especially for someone in my circumstances, and I set myself up for disappointment by assuming it is when I first got into this dilemma.

Those were things out of my control, it sounds like you chose the decisions that led you here.

This is how every right-wing shithead tries to justify why they deserve help and other people don't lmao

Merely staying alive in a capitalist society accrues periodic expenses and if you aren't making income at a rate that matches or exceeds those expenses, you will have to keep getting money from elsewhere until that changes, something that's not difficult to understand, but I guess the "zero" in your site's URL refers to your capacity for critical thought

The decision of being a trans person born into a devout Catholic family, right?

Just when I thought you couldn't have had less credibility, you framed my situation in such a grossly myopic way that it's impossible to make a single shred of sense out of your reasoning no matter how I slice it.

          Like I said, deeply unserious.

That's obviously a strawman. I didn't say I was the only one, and it's incredibly disingenuous to frame my point that way.

Now, entertaining concern trolling isn't really worth the time, but to at least attempt help you understand the flaw here: whether I'm the only trans person born into a religious family or not, I'm addressing the point that you are saying that I chose decisions that led me here. My family's staunch devotion to Catholicism and how that shaped their view of trans people played a key part in leading me to this situation. That's not a choice, so this response is not only irrelevant to the point I'm making, but it's also highly unnuanced even if we wanted to go into a further conversation about trans people born into religious families who may be in different circumstances. Either way, you are demonstrating the worst understanding of material conditions that I have seen on this site to date.

I’m glad that you’ve never had a job search take longer than a couple months and that you can’t imagine a situation where someone doesn’t have a traditional support system. Really happy for you. But I don’t think you’re genuinely curious. You don’t get to openly criticize someone’s actions out of an admitted place of ignorance and then end it with, “feel free to correct me” to save face. You’re not entitled to know anything more about Angel’s situation than what they share freely. This is not charity. It is not means tested. It is not stigmatized. And the people giving are not naive, nor do they have any reason to distrust Angel. This is mutual aid. If you’re annoyed by it, just block the community.
