Hey all! I like probably most of the people introducing theirselves today am detaching myself from bsky, and I don't think I ever actually even made an intro post there, (whoops!) so here is one!

I'm an asexual trans woman in my thirties, my hobbies are mostly a rotating hyper fixation wheel of TTRPGs, gunpla, miniature wargaming, 3D modeling, and occasionally a non-tabletop RPG. Also my husband runs a rabbit rescue so I do a lot of stuff with bunnies too! We live on a farm with many animals we rescued from being food and a few more we adopted who were always companions.

Currently I'm trying to do research to write a book about Posadas aliens coming to Earth in the 18th century and bringing mechs because "what if Jane Austen had a Gundam?" is a very fun question to me, (and also I forgot Gundam Wing existed for like two weeks when I first started thinking about it,) but it's kind of turned into "what if Gundams fought in the Napoleonic wars?" so now I'm also working on a wargame

Yes! I'll post more in pets later but here's a picture of our litter of bottle babies from a couple weeks ago! They look like whole entire lil buns now but they are no less cute

I haven't, but I'm interested! I looked them up expecting post-hardcore but I guess they're crust, so like even better

Ooh! Okay, I'd better intro you a bit cause you should listen to them in release order. They're more from the crust scene but the tragedy style of crust. They formed as a concept band and released the 3 albums they needed to and then broken up. So listening in order is crucial.

Also if crust is even better for you. I am a crust expert. I have been stenchcore scum for a solid 20 years and have toured, booked bands etc. I know a lot of people from the early UK crust/anarcho scene personally or through friends, DIY punk was what I lived and breathed for a long time. I'm becoming less precious about it but just last night I got the bass slot for the new System Shit lineup.(first Canadian crust band, started in 1988). You wanna get more band recommendations than you know what to do with or book a diy punk show pretty much anywhere then gimme a shout. There's a worldwide network of the 5 punks.that organize in every town and they mountains.

I did listen to a pretty cool podcast about free black men in the employ of the British Royal Navy in the 18th century last night

I'd be interested to see how wildly messy a mecha French Revolution could get, or even what shenanigans Qing China at it's peak under Emperor Gaozong could get up to if they had mechs. Certainly a most fun thought experiment no matter the era.

Have you read any of Naomi Novik's Temeraire series? It's the Napoleonic wars but with dragons. Pretty fun

    Also, welcome!

I have seen Turn A and loved it! I actually was trying to get my husband to watch it with me when it was on youtube a couple months back but he couldn't stay awake, so I haven't seen the whole thing since like 2015

Hello! Welcome to our pro-trans, pro-commie, pro-anarchist corner of the internet! Hope you enjoy yourself. Ask questions if you have any.

A Napoleonic Wars game with mechs sounds amazing btw! Can't wait to see how it goes if you decide to share any progress on here. Maybe this will be the motivation I need to finish my own tabletop game. It's a card game with cults (and also aliens!). No mechs, though lol

I definitely will! I was gonna base it on Blood & Bayonets when that comes out, but when I tried to make mecha rules for Blood & Plunder (assuming it's the same basic rules as Bayonets) I realized it made more sense to just add infantry and sea ships to Mobile Suit Skirmish

I still have a hex-based d6 wargame system floating around looking for a setting (I wrote my own one called "World War Punk", wherein the British Empire finds ancient Sumerian gods and the whole thing is about debt, agrarian civilisation, and the Middle East, but with airships and tanks)

    Hello and welcome, Andromeda!!! ralsei-wave

I haven’t seen a ton of Gundam anime yet tbh (Witch from Mercury and a few episodes of Turn A and the original), but I LOVE gunpla and related kits. I started last year and now I’m addicted. Here’s pics of some of the kits I’ve assembled:

It’s a 30 Minute Sister kit, but not kitbashed. I did hand paint the skull rods myself though and really liked how they came out.

Oh wait, are you referring to the Mad Wolf? That’s a really cool Nuke Matrix kit I got here, and probably the most complex one I’ve done so far. There were a few annoying parts of the build, but overall I thought it was a neat kit. I have a couple more Nuke Matrix kits to do which I plan to hopefully start on in January if they arrive on time.

Hello, you've only just arrived but you radiate hexbear! hexbear-posadist

So for the Napoleonic gundams, are we talking contemporary tech? Because that sounds sick, a big coal-powered battle mech with a contemptuous brass face and a six-barrelled naval cannon

Oh yeah I was on badposting earlier and was like "oh I guess I'm home!"

I was evisioning the gundams as normal but scaled down to 1:56/28mm, though, it'd also be a really fun project to model Victorian steampunk gundams? The Doylian justification is that the Posadas aliens purposely and specifically made theirselves known before the industrial revolution, for various reasons
