The news mega is also basically the only place I can see Non-American perspectives on the site. The anger from that thread I saw seemed to be Americans wandering into a thread that's internationally focused, spouting something trying to be relatable I guess but came off unrelated and directly contradictory to the current problem they were talking about at worst, then getting mad when it was pushed back on.

I wonder if American POC perspectives can be shocked when they wander into that thread just as much as American white perspectives, leading to confusing cross talk life this. The original poster was talking any colonizer-colonized dynamics, and how the colonized can be tricked by a lack of knowledge of international Imperialist relations. Not victims of white supremacy in the Imperial core getting talked over by well meaning but privileged white people, a very different, very American-centric problem. There are different priorities, allies, etc for these different groups, and coming in second when the context is already established and then getting mad the person doesn't accept your attempt to shift the conversation to their problems seems kinda, idk, bleh. Entitled? Idk the word. It maybe would've been more relatable if they talked about, "ya, it sucks when the Candace Owen, Ben Carson, and the Herman Cain's of the world come in as a member of the colonized class but talk like white supremacists". That's a bit more related to the original topic at hand in that particular thread everyone is talking about. For the record, if the latter problem was talked about first, then ya, I'd see the problem, but the conversation was already set in the other context.

But maybe I'm lucky. I feel sorta new here and haven't seen too much antiblackness in there yet. Seem some strange worshipping of white men, but it's definitely felt less racist than mainstream American news at least. The EM POC and News mega have been a fresh of breath air since I joined and would hate to see either leave, for different reasons.
