Yep. Two wrongs don't make it right. This is also not the first instance of weird/harassment shit coming from this account. Maybe it wasn't you specifically, but there's a reason this account is banned on multiple comms at this point.

But if that's the situation you're talking about, then that wasn't sexual harassment? I've asked for clarification and I've apologised if I misunderstood something, but so far nothing has happened.
What do you mean with "two wrongs don't make a right". Do you mean insults?

    Banned on multiple comms

You're again misstating the situation or making it out to be much worse than it is. Bureaucrat is banned from the hexbear comm because no bit accounts in announcement discussions and it's now banned from chapotraphouse because of "sexual harassment" and being a stale bit, which I don't understand. There's so many bit accounts around. And now also for reporting a comment in c/EMPoC for reporting a comment complaining about white people for sectarianism. That one I get.

One person, or a few bad actors, could ruin the bit for everyone, that much was made clear by both many of the people who posted on this account at the beginning, as well as the admins themselves.

Coulda woulda shoulda. It isn't doing that though. It's not worse than any other account allowed here. The account has gone over the line once in a while, but as far as I can tell every time was someone misreading the vibe. If that's bannable offense then you gotta get rid of all ND people.

These people, in doing these things, have justified the inital fears that this account would cause issues with moderation.

Which people? I don't even get what you're talking about.

I would completely understand if both the crat and the cat got site-banned at this point

Because you're worried something that hasn't happened might happen? Why not ban all accounts then? Bureaucrat is honestly more vetted than any other account given that to get the password you have to apply with a hexbear account. So you have to first get the hexbear approval and then the bureaucrat approval.

Are you (collective) able to tell me how this and the cat account could be prevented from being used for ban evasion?

As in someone with a hexbear account gets access to Bureaucrat and then gets banned but still has access to the Bureaucrat

The password could be changed every n days, and automatically sent to all the non-banned people who have requested it.

The best case scenario would probably be a change to the source code allowing people to make posts that display as Bureau, but are still linked to their real accounts.

That is extra work on the Bureaucrats and can't think of a way to provide oversight Sadly no development can be expected

Is there a setting to make a comm invite only, like /c/furry, except only people with an invite can see it. Then a bot could post randomized passwords/usernames in a "mega".

The other option is someone (maybe me dean-smile ) making a bot where users can dm a link to a post, as well as what they want to reply with. That way there is a log of who is making which posts, but it would still be "anonymous" from the outside. I know lemmy doesnt have secure DMs, but if the messages already arent really anonymous that would be less of an issue.

I should have some free time in the next few weeks that I should be able to use to make a bot. Ill message you if I get it working.

Not at all. That is definitely something that is a danger. It's also a danger with every new account that is allowed in.

It's time to just retire the account, by force if necessary. Preferably keeping the posts intact.
