Hello all! @sweet_pecan@hexbear.net is taking a well-deserved break so I'll be posting the mega in the foreseeable future. How are we all doing? I truly can't believe it's almost 2025.

I don't think the people in the linked thread and that comment are being fair to frauddogg
Well, tbf, do you think it was fair to fellow POC @FunkYankkkees@hexbear.net to be called a "settler"?
From what I can tell (and recall) Frauddogg took issue with Funk's statement on a Hexbear user contacting the FBI to submit a FOIA request about Hexbear
Which frauddogg called a settler take.
To be clear I think someone toying with government attention (especially without anyone's consent) should be taken seriously and Hexbear has been a lifeline to a lot of users.
Yeah, I think that was a stupid justification on FunkYankkkees' part, however, when FunkYankkkees responded back with "invader", honestly, frauddogg's confrontational response just showed he couldn't handle his own medicine
(you can go to his lemmygrad account to still see his confrontational attitude over time, which is understandable but unhealthy if you're espousing it repeatedly)
I think while Funk was wrong on the FOIA, I think frauddogg's overall attitude, especially his response, just dug a deeper ditch for himself
And these people were on the same page
Maybe I grant you that, because I suppose many of them would prolly be the people frauddogg would be arguing with...
I think a lot of people are going to take it the wrong way and assume because frauddogg wasn't perfect in this one situation, they can disregard everything frauddog has ever said (even when correct). It's also a case of minorities being expected to be informed and perfect 100% of the time, while whitey is allowed to say stupid shit.
Don't think it was wrong to call something "a settler take." You wouldn't e-mail the CIA/Mossad/MI6 asking them if they've seen a group's Facebook page. Doubling down on being part of the American war machine, however, is not good.
Correct, it's a "fed take".
Actually applies to both people, in this case (@FunkYankkkees@hexbear.net and @frauddogg@hexbear.net
