Like, look at the comments. 0s and 1s abound. Tons of cool stuff is being posted without any discussion following it. I'm guilty as hell as not being as present as I want to be. I don't want this to become circlejerk central like /r/music. Anyone have any suggestions to improve user engagement?

Maybe it's uncouth to do this in this way, but this is an issue I think we need to address.

Honestly, I don’t feel like I have much to add to the conversation. And generally someone else has already said it—much better than I could—when I get into the comments. This place makes me feel less alone, but. I tend to not speak up much. So I guess I’m one of the people you’re asking about.

Reddit was such a toxic cesspool, I’m still starting comments and deleting them for fear of what my inbox will look like in an hour.

this is better than reddit with 20 people tripping over each other to make the same two or three brainless jokes and references through the entire comments section

"My Humps" is a song performed by American recording group Black Eyed Peas. The song was written and produced by group member will.i.am for their fourth studio album Monkey Business (2005). It was released as the band's third single from the album on September 20, 2005, due in part to the strength of downloads preceding the release. Musically, "My Humps" is a hip hop and dance song that is structured as a duet between will.i.am and Fergie. The song sparked controversy because of its title and lyrics, which center on a woman who uses her breasts and buttocks to accomplish her goals.

Honestly I love what folks are doing here, but I’ve always been a lurker. And partially I’m like not sure what I can contribute to conversations :/

There's plenty to contribute. Encourage song posters, ask questions, do the philosophy bullshit after reading the lyrics. Maybe we need to have weekly discussions?

    Never stop posting comrades.

And make the site load faster and not re-load when you are in the middle of reading something.

IMO, there needs to be more of a push to use the communities and not simply shitpost in /c/main. The communities tend to be slower and the discussion is more purpose-driven towards specific topics, which I think could help promote better more and better engagement overall.

Unless there's some folks who want to use c/music to do like, music history or biographies of artists... not really much to comment on or attract my attention.

'Course, could also try to start up music themed struggle sessions.

.. and as has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, c/main drowns out everything else...
