I understand resisting overreach, but these publications never talk about the reality of el Salvador before Bukele. The extremely high murder rate, rampant extortion and corruption, or direct partnerships between gangs and parts of the government. Accountability is important and necessary, but without this context these messages reenforce a US agenda that has been opposed to Salvadoran sovereignty since before the "op. de control territorial" even got started and Bukele was just doing corruption reforms. Honestly in many ways that history goes back to the 90s mass deportations of ms13 members to a newly formed nation after a bloody civil war between right wing death squads and Marxist nationalists. Like how are we going to talk aboit solidarity without even mentioning this history of us complicity with atrocities in el salvadaor going back just 30 years, which isn't even the end of it. Look up "la matanza" for added context
