    Holy shit, they're not kidding

    Description of death via bugs

Thompson's death gained public attention in April after Harper released photos of his face and body covered in insects.

Thompson was dealing with untreated schizophrenia at the jail, according to an independent autopsy report released by the family, which said he "was neglected to death." An earlier report from the Fulton County medical examiner's office found no obvious signs of trauma on Thompson's body but noted a "severe bed bug infestation." It listed his cause of death as "undetermined."

    From elsewhere:

Bed bug bites are not usually deadly, but in some rare cases, prolonged exposure to a massive bed bug infestation can cause severe anaemia, which can be lethal if left untreated.

    Yuh.

I mean the most popular genre of book last decade was the "what if privileged white people got treated like they were gay and/or black?"

Same thing happened on Brazil after the arrest of the people trying to coup the government after Bolsonaro lost. They suddenly became aware that prisons conditions are shit and were talking about how inhumane that is. Not shit, that something that everyone left of center have been talking for years but they always said "direitos humanos pra humanos direitos" (translate to something like human rights for "correct" humans), now eat it assholes.

Did you read beyond the headline? It literally explicitly says he’s being treated better because he’s rich and white
