Downing Street is said to believe that significant reductions are needed in the welfare budget, namely from personal independence payments (PIP).

Of course, when the government wants to save money, they take it from the most vulnerable. Just legalise euthanasia already, at least give us a quicker exit. It's already virtually impossible to get PIP - I got zero points on my last assessment despite being a cancer patient, recovering from a stroke and being partially sighted. But hey let's give PIP to even fewer people to save money! Why not just scrap disability benefits altogether - that will save a few quid!

      Yeah under the austerity programs it all usually gets just wasted on corporate tax cuts, military or eaten by government corruption in many smaller ways.

        Exactly. During the pandemic the government wasted £10 billion on PPE that never got used, but that's fine! A disabled person being given money for the bare essentials though, that is what is bankrupting the country and needs to stop!

        I’m honestly surprised that there is anything to cut…just reducing services to even less levels of “functioning”.

          They make it worse on purpose so people agree when they sell the public service to the private sector
