Seeing all the libs on reddit, "I am so nervous I'm literally going in little circles vomiting in my hands" and I wonder exactly how not anxious are you to find out the results? Could I possibly help make you even less anxious?

I'm vaguely nervous about it potentially being a blowout Biden win. Apart from the smug neoliberal triumphalism being grating beyond belief, it will completely cement that absolutely nobody learns a single fucking thing from anything that's happened in the last 4+ years. I mean of course nobody's really gonna be learning anything no matter what happens so I'm honestly not terribly worried, but I feel like all the other outcomes at least give more chances to radicalise people and are also much funnier
Retrospective edit: lol
The collapse of US imperial power is coming, and Joe Biden and the DNC really don't seem capable enough to turn that around. They can only step up their military force and international austerity in an effort to minimize it at home, and that's gonna be just another growth mechanism for our movements in resisting the blatant imperialism. I do worry that the DNC will be more effective in their subversion/repression of the left though...
Dude, Biden is going to inherit the worst US economy and highest unemployment numbers since the great depression. If there is any 'austerity', it's going to be directed towards us living in the country and he's made that very clear. The last time there was a Democratic supermajority, they became overly concerned with the deficit and so far, they've proven that's going to be their main focus this time around too if they get control of all branches of government.
Some of you need to seriously understand that the war machine in the US is not a hivemind. It's a small group of capitalists, all with their own interests and motivations that usually are contradicting to one another. There isn't going to be a war with China or any of this other bullshit that is constantly spouted on here which is mostly just edgelords hoping and praying that there is a war. US imperialism has been collapsing since the Obama era. There was plenty of evidence way back in 2011-2012 that things were not improving overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq and since then, they've had even more failures overseas.
More often than not, we're going to see another great depression in the US with mass protests and uprisings as a result of a government that is unable to do anything to fix the problems we face. The war on terror has already come home and shit is about to get real when there is a massive rightwing backlash to Biden's austerity and the Dems being unable to fix anything. We haven't seen the worst of what is to come yet, but we're getting closer to it.
I didn't really mean war with China is a possibility, I moreso meant they're going to step up the pressure via the IMF to collect from our imperial victims to reduce the huge degree of austerity they're going to impose at home. The non-military industries also rely on the fruits of our neocolonial empire.
I also think Biden is gonna be more effective in managing our interference in South American and African at-risk-of-socialism nations.

I suppose a blowout Biden win gives more of a liberal sigh-of-relief MaNdAtE FoR rEtUrN tO sAnItY and ThE aDuLtS aRe In ChArGe that's easier to ride roughshod over any even vaguely progressive movements as they steer resolutely back towards the slightly-more-distant iceberg
I guess what I'm really anxious about is my big decision tomorrow, do I go for the eggs benedict or the avocado toast, help me comrades
I've never had eggs benny, but if you ever go through "give me your underrated foods" threads it is always in like the top 3
Yeah I have to give it to the libs on this one, eggs benedict is pretty great and it may or may not be named after a guy who betrayed america so that's pretty sweet too

They’re going to keep trying to beat that military Keynesian horse. Every government spending program will be justified as being to “beat the Chinese”. This will keep the defense intelligentsia happy. The use of defense spending for industrial policy will increase, because it’s a big source of manufacturing and STEM jobs that congressmen can direct to their district. They’ll keep doing this whether it works or not. Eventually China will “beat” the US in the arms race, but that’s not going to break the iron triangle.
US power isn’t going to collapse, other countries will just gradually start to ignore the US more. The US will still try to quixotically pursue unilateralism in a multilateral world, but no one outside the anglosphere will give a shit. I don’t think there will be some showdown with China, US policy is merely delaying their technological advancement by a decade and countries which export equipment China like Germany aren’t going to compromise a productive trade relationship to contain a country which poses little threat to them.
I don't necessarily think that's true, it's pretty obvious to everyone that Bidens win is entirely because of Trump's mishandling of covid.
