    I hate the absurd lack of subtlety common among political cartoons. Why does the fucking rose need to be labeled?

      Ask the average American what political group the Arm and Hammer symbolize and the answer will probably be 'baking soda.'

        Yeah, while I agree that political cartoons are over-explained, I don't think your average Dem or republican would know what that means. Honestly not convinced they do even with the label.

            I guess we just have very different expectations about the point of making a piece of art. If your piece of art could be replaced by black text on a white background that just says "DEMOCRATS FAIL, DSA THRIVES" without any sort of value in the art being lost, what is the point of even making the art?
