From what I recall/googled, there's a Knife Party song called "Centipede" that used nature documentary voice over on how giant tropical centipedes are vicious, poisonous predators and "nimble navigators" and one of the "Can't Stump the Trump" videos used the song. So they took those terms from there to refer to each other.
Oh that was so concise and elegant. I hate that there's probably some 25-30 min. video explaining the same thing out there.
