Lordy I'm jealous. I've been trying to learn to draw recently, but I haven't drawn since I was a little kid so right now I have the skills of an idiot six year old. And you have to do it every day. If you do it once, for an hour, and then spend all your free time for the next two months listening to podcasts while playing games before drawing for an hour again you don't actually get better at it. I've heard it told Bob Ross once said "talent is pursued interest" and the older I get the more true that seems.

Bob Ross is 100% correct, you gotta build a habit of doing art daily. Steve Huston says to start even with just five mins a day, and then you’ll slowly want to draw longer ea. day.

I started to do this seriously at 24, and I’m 30; I doubt I’ll ever go pro, but it’s my favorite hobby cause I can do good stuff cheaply, it helps me relax, and it’s just plain fun when you get over the art angst.
