These bigoted, ignorant scum will never listen to anything. They are politically illiterate infants with an allergic reaction to reading.

They have ruined a safe space cultivated and cared for, they have turned this place into a new reddit.

I had a dude in my private messages going on about how I was both mutilating myself and other children. Many more people on hexbear have had similar experiences, with these worthless ignorant scum popping in to deliver the political equivalent of a giant shit.

As your friends, comrades, and people you say you defend get slurred at, dehumanized, and harassed please ask yourself:

Is it worth it?

I have the answer, I know you know it as well:

No its not

I used to think otherwise

I was a fool

its not worth a few laughs

even if you dunk all you want, that doesn't take away the knife those people put in our backs.

These bigots, fascists, and NATO liberals are as worthless offline as they are here, why should we give them any attention. They are worth less than the dirt beneath our fingernails. Why should we poison ourselves with their influence? We don't make any room for them offline, why should we not online?

And really

How many essays have your written?

How many sources have you combed through?

How many times have you explained the most basic facts of reality?

How many attempts at good faith?

Only for them to dismiss it in their stupidity. They don't read it, they just crumble and divert back to the programming these little shits trust in more than God.

For every time there is a good faith user, there are a dozen scumbag fascists. And most of the time, the "good faith one" just reverts back to their old shit.

Do you really think losing any member of the hexbear or lemmygrad community, longtime members or not, is worth a few good dunks?

I don't believe a small chance of gaining a new user is worth alienating an entire section of the community. The vast majority of those idiots are lost causes. If they are interested, the can just make an account and ask in good faith.

Is posting a meme to "own the liberals" worth your comrades getting more trauma from bigots harassing them?

No its not.

you've had your laugh, but it should end

Ban them all, SJW, lemm.ee, lemmy, the programmer nazi edglords. Keep Lemmygrad.

Defederate from those communities. We shouldn't sacrifice our own for more clicks. For having to subject ourselves to the opinions of people thoroughly brainwashed? We aren't reddit. We came here to get away from that. I'm sick of this. We are sick of this.

End it now

I think sjw really needs to be considered for defed. Maybe I'm just reading the room wrong but lemmee and ml seems to have chilled since the first week idk. I've yet to see a good take from programmer one outside of niche focused discussions on non political things (tech support, piracy ect.)

Edit: there is someone from the programmer one being chill and nice in this thread meow-hug

Having read a few threads with sjw users, I’m honestly pretty mad and disgusted. I’d rather be federated with blahaj than the fascists and debate perverts that infest sjw.

I’m not in favor of refederating with blahaj mind, I just find the idea that they were so awful that we needed to de-fed ridiculous compared to the garbage I see from sh.itjustworks.

Also, I like the .ees. They seem to be more open to learning, and seem to be better when it comes to LGBT+ rights and ableism than any of the other big instances beside lemmygrad

Also, and I know this wouldn’t happen, but if we ever de-fed lemmygrad I will commit violence. HexbearXLemmygrad forever Care-Comrade

I also think it's pretty bizarre how we've ended up federated with SJW, but not Blajah. Not that there weren't users from Blahaj who had to go, but the difference between them and SJW is astronomical. There is no justifiable reason for SJW to be federated after we just defederated a large LGBT instance for reactionary takes that pale in comparison to those coming out of SJW.

That said, we're definitely not going to end up refederating with Blajah because the instance was just a few days away from deciding to defederate from us before we did it first.

I think with blahaj it's a matter of bad behavior from mods being much more of a institutional issue that cannot be worked around. The leaking of messages by the 196 mod and the inaction of their admins to remove the bad actor, at least I would think, is a fundamental issue that is immediately disqualifying from admin perspective. The fact we have not really heard from sjw mods, at least I haven't seen it, in public threads gives them at least an off ramp to clamp down on bigotry and bad actors.

Just to clarify I still don't think it's worth federation from what I've seen and am not defending them. But if we see a ban wave on sjw of bigots and trolls I can see the trial period of federation lasting a bit longer. Idk internet forum communities are weird to moderate.

We have seen the sjw mods in some of the threads, and I’m not really impressed. Ada from blahaj seemed like she at least saw the value in trans solidarity despite clear errors in how she was allowing reactionaries and chasers and other bad actors run free, but sjw seems to be some combination of freeze-peach and morshupls and straight up fascists

This might come off as rude or mean but I don't really understand the water that is always carried for ada on this site. She failed to act in the face of all the legitimate issues that were clear as day on their instance.

Unless I misread the situation. As admins they should have immediately banned the 196 moderator after they released internal messages with hexbear admins. It's unacceptable conduct for someone who is moderating. Their admin teams lack of appropriate response clearly signaled to me they care more about maintaining their fief than any sort of good faith action.

I don’t really disagree with you, I’m just saying we treated blahaj way more critically than I see us treating sjw. Ada protected transphobes and chasers, the mods at sjw are blocking hexbear posters and it’s infested with fascists. I feel that defedarating from blahaj was correct, but cannot see any reason why sjw was even considered

No worries, I’m guilty of hoping there could have been trans solidarity between hexbear and blahaj, and appreciate being reminded that there was a lot of rot in that instance that made it impossible for it to be a safe space for our trans comrades

Yeah not sure why people preface every comment critical of Blahaj with like "Actually Ada is a queen who can do no wrong BUT"

It's her instance! If it sucks that's because of the choices she made! Also "people of NATO" lmao

I completely agree with you when it comes to blahaj. I’m being more expressive about federation right now because I’ve recommended this as a space that was very safe for trans people and now I’m not certain that was the right call. I’m not in the right headspace to explain, but the idea that with just a couple clicks from this site you could be exposed to people debating trans peoples existence really upsets me

          Edit:changed rights to existence
