Thought it was already pretty common knowledge that the Bush admin supposedly just outright ignored evidence of an imminent attack. Whether that's genuine or just standard cover your ass is a different story (I still believe it was genuine knowledge that was ignored so that consent for massive wars could be manufactured).

They did the same thing for Pearl Harbor too. They want to be pulled in to war
To be entirely fair, that war was pretty worthwhile in my opinion.
We didn't exactly get into it with the goal of ending Japanese imperialism though, we did it to expand our own.
