They are the heroes of 9/11 - the passengers killed fighting their hijackers. But a new book claims they were shot down by U.S. fighter jets...and that the whole story is a cynical cover-up
My cousin is from the same town the "let's roll" guy went to college. A really Christian conservative college. They named a bench after him. One of those weird molded plastic benches you'd see at swimming pools except they made his extra long for some reason. I was visiting from out of state and way into skateboarding at the time. We went to the college campus to look for spots and saw this ridiculously long bench made of that plastic that was basically wax and you could grind on it for days. So we started skating it. Eventually some rent a cop showed up and said "do you know whose bench you're vandalizing?" Without pause, my cousin's friend said, "Yeah. He's my brother. I think he'd want us to skate it." We got kicked out but it was hilarious. After researching that college I would not be surprised at all if they scanned the flight logs for somebody they could prop up as a good old american christian hero. Super anecdotal and not to be taken too seriously, but that place has a real cultish vibe to it.
