I’m sympathetic that he was tossed into something heavy at 18 years old, but I don’t understand basing one’s entire personality on, and ruining a nice paint job for, something you did for 18 months, 54 years ago.
I think it's often a gender identity thing, they can't consume their way to masculinity because they're too poor so they embrace combat, the only other capitalism approved expression of maleness.
