Yeah it's not technically a co-op because that would marry it to certain regulations and expectations that I do not want to deal with in it's infancy. I thought best to start as a limited company.

My company is a recruitment agency but low-key a service workers / labour union. I believe what it can offer as a competitive advantage over other recruiters is greater engagement with workers, greater support, a focus on personal development and a sort of career road map.

Underpinning that will be a nice dose of indoctrination which I'm framing as getting people to 'stand up for the value of their labour'. This is the tone of voice I'm using to develop the brand. Attempting to empower workers and instill in them a greater sense of identity. Work as a means to it's self rather than to the same uniform materialistic ends. Focusing on cooperation and engagement to drive a community and a culture that is self-sustaining.

I'm yet to develop this doctrine fully though, it will really have to thread the needle as to not expose it's agenda.This is something I've been thinking about for a few years, writing down bits and pieces, sometimes going so far as to write near enough essays on it just to discard it all because it was too...liberal and diluting the socialism that needs to hold strong at it's core.

I've worked for and as a recruiter and they're missing a massive opportunity to really...help ...people? It's crazy the power they have to do so, but because the employment market is so saturated they just don't. High turn-over low-skill jobs is just about the most bare faced example of worker alienation you'll ever come across. It's hard to get anyone to care about working hard, everyone is just working easy until the boss shows up.

But my own contextualizing of this - just for my own salacious fulfillment - is so many of us, young people and working class deal with a sort of labour atrophy. Giving people the motivation to use these shitty jobs as a springboard to their own competitive successes is what I want. Couple this with the idea of achieving financial security and working independence this is all sounding very capitalistic, but I'm sure you get what I'm working with and for. The more 'our people' can become competitive in a capitalist environment, the more use they'll ultimately be to our own cause. If their prosperity isn't derived from a false sense of individualism but instead on a clear and conscious sense of working class identity then I can see that as nothing but a victory for socialism.

But I do feel like I'm playing with fire here and there is still a lot to do.

So where I'm at now is developing the brand on the front end, while refining the manifesto and principles for how the business will run. I'm not a designer and my web design skills are mediocre and I burn out quickly from frustration but I'm getting there. However, the logo and name are on point, you guys would be all over it. Maybe I'll reveal in time when I know getting doxxed wont be an issue because it will be a bit more public facing...but I'll have to think about that.

I'm placed to get a x amount currency grant which should come through soon. And a low-interest business loan on top of my own money is also forthcoming. A risk that will put no personal stress on my own financial situation if you're wondering because my partner is clean as a whistle and everything real goes in their name. All this shady shit goes in mine.

This is really happening now... I think. The train is rolling down the track anyway. My BFF is an accountant comrade, she's really made this feel possible. My other bestie is part of the unions and a smart dude, he's down for it. But mostly this is my failure or my success. So overcoming hardwired complexes of failure are certainly on the menu.

Part of the benefit is it can all mostly be done online but what I'm really looking forward to the day I can go out with some fliers and knock on doors. Do some direct marketing and just talk to people about it. Because it's all just fueled by anxiety right now.
