Fuck man that was gold. That really was kind of the moment most people had to take a step back and think, this is who I've been arguing with about Drake vs Kendrick?
There was a brief moment in time early on where HHH wasn't too bad. It used to be mostly old dudes who grew up listening to rap, or that's what it seemed like anyway. It was kind of fun to go there and shoot the shit, and there were some good recommendations to be found. It happened really gradually but eventually it dawned on me that it was the only place online I was actually getting into political arguments and the reason I was so surprised at how dumb all these people were was that they were probably in middle school and practicing commercial performative wokeness that they didn't really understand.

found out about Freddie Gibbs there when he dropped Deuces, so I'll be forever in that sub's debt
Haha I got into Freddie when Pitchfork gave Pinata a good review, which is one of the whitest ways to get into Freddie Gibbs.
I mean I heard about him on HHH so I'm one to talk
but still,
as long as you listen to the rest of the catalog you're good
and if you haven't seen the Dueces video (the tyson/holyfield fight not the actual video for Dueces) or the Still Livin 2 video, I highly recommend
I love Freddie. He's such a funny guy and he's talented as hell. I'll definitely check out that video, thanks for recommending!
he's also kept his angelfire up for over a decade now, it's a wild time capsule
Haha god damn that's pretty cool. Wish the downloads were still hosted.
You can find em on Soulseek. Idk that I've got em all but I've found most of his early catalog on there & all his singles.
