Just downloaded No Man’s Sky, been looking for a game I can just mindlessly play while listening to leftist media after playing a few dialogue heavy games lately. What are the games y’all like to play while listening to podcasts?
Rocket league or fifa was always perfect for this for me. Just mindlessly trying to score goals for hours. Randomly, last night I was playing Inside with a podcast on, and it worked surprisingly well. I don’t know if I’d consider most puzzle games “podcast friendly” though.
Non-rpg open-world games are usually pretty good, I got a lot of podcast mileage out of Just Cause 3 a few years back.
Extra points for shit that’s on Xbox Gamepass 👀
Factorio was my go-to for a while, it's like tending a industrialized zen garden that occasionally gets attacked by the bugs from Starship Troopers.
Elite Dangerous is a good one since you're spending a lot of it just space-truckin' from one place to another with naught but the void of space for company.
If you love old-school FPS games STRAFE™ is a cool roguelite spin on boomer-shooters that's light on plot and heavy on fountains of blood and explosions.
I second Elite. I'm on a deep exploration mission to the galactic core. Podcasts keep me company ten thousand light years from Earth.
Protip: When you get to Sagittarius A* If you run into a guy who claims to be God and asks to borrow your ship, just keep flying and don't make eye contact.
Fuck that noise
