The devs (who are volunteers) have higher priorities than creating a whole new system for something that is more easily solved through a change in user behavior.
If you want us to change our behavior then empowering us to act in a better manner is more effective than having some hall monitor chide us. If you don't want to put in the work, don't do it, but don't get pissy when people don't behave how you want.
Also the fact that you actually don't have the mod tool to change where a post is is utterly wild, that shit was a standard mod tool back on all the forums I used back in the 2000's.
Okay, I typed up a long response and this site did it's auto refresh thing and deleted it. :pika-pickaxe: I'll type it up again in a while and post it in userunion.
Fuck whomever downbeared your reasonable response.
The gist of what I was going to say is this site from a user perspective functions like a forum from the 2000's, except it's harder to navigate to the specific sections, and off topic is the default, and the individual comms are either too broad or too specific with a few exceptions. The UX promotes us putting everything in main, so that's where everything goes. I'll talk about ways we can change that sort of thing in the userunion post.
As the mod of c/anime I support changing the drop down list into alphabetical order instead. :evo:
I think they'll still post to Main and don't think it's simply laziness about scrolling down that results in all the Main posts, but I support changing it to test the theory.
A big problem is that it has a hang time of ~3 seconds, and I've got a fast computer and high speed internet. It's fundamentally unpleasant for me to use the dropdown menu.

I think, technically, this is a "reddit" hold-over for the Reddit Clone/Lemmy software. I don't recall Reddit moderation tools having this ability.
This is a feature request. Please post it to !feedback@hexbear.net
You asked a question, don't act like a bitch when I gave you an answer

Really? That's.... Bizarre? I have zero hangtime whatsoever.

It's almost like the mod tools are a work in progress on a website that has been in development for about 6 months.
