Controversial opinion, I am for keeping main, and the bot, as a bit. The mods fucking with the community was always a staple of old Chapo and it's good to see it back. This place is theoretically a shit-posting website, so I expect to see shit shit-posted. Oh, and AMAB, all power to the posters, we are the 99%, I am the one true leftist, etc.

Lmao it's so bad yet so good. Just because of how much it's bothering people and their reactions.

The bot's annoying but some of you are making way too big of a fucking deal about it lmao. Being this upset about a bad bit account is some terminally online shit.

Alright everybody. Rules of the session are that whomever has the top comment on the 'active' filter wins the session. I will address concerns that my category for winning is biased because my comment is the one currently on top at another time. Now is the time for solidarity and upholding the mass line! Forward comrades!

Say what you want but at least they started shit out of nowher, no need to create dozens of spam accounts. Enver could never.

true. im pretty ambivalent about the whole thing tbh.

its one innocuous comment that suggests other comms on each post, so theres nothing particularly awful about it, its just also not really a good bit.

could probably just suggest comms without the bot formatting and itd rankle fewer feathers

That's a whole other conversation that we should actually hash out in another thread, but I agree.

We don’t have to confine the entire website to one community.

We don't have enough users to be "confined." We barely have enough users for one community as it is. The problem is that you think that a 150k user community and a 1k user community can be reasonably managed the same way and with the same philosophy, and that just simply is not the case.

This. There is a commonly known 90-9-1 rule in community management. I've seen this trend play out on every single community I've ever been involved with on the side where you can see the data.

If we ban posts and comments like I've been saying we need to we can widely expand the userbase that engages fully with the site.

I literally made same post on Main and Mutual Aid. The one on main got way more upvotes and exposure. The one on mutual aid got almost nothing.

Raising money: Easily done through pinned posts. Literally no reason this needs to have an entirely separate forum.

Reading material in the sidebars / educational posts: Easily done through pinned posts, regular posts (which would get popular and wouldn't just be drowned out by shitposts) or by implementing any sort of wiki / reading material list into the site. Raddle has solved this issue and that site fucking sucks. https://raddle.me/wiki

somehow we got by just fine on old chapo with a maximum of 2 pinned posts

are you saying that on this new site we are going to fail to solve a problem that we had solved just fine on reddit
