Films and TV ok :thumbs up:

I am a very young millennial/boomer zoomer so the first 3 decades are basically wins by default. Anyway I got:

  • 70s: Belladonna of Sadness (‘73) by default. Watercolor hentai.

  • 80s: My Neighbor Totoro (‘88). Dope as hell.

  • 90s: Perfect Blue (‘98) maybe? Either that or G Gundam.

  • 00s: Gurren Lagann (‘07). Imaishi hasn’t missed since.

  • 10s: This one’s tough because most of the stuff I’ve seen aired in the last ten years. Think I’ll go with Hyouka today. The tone, characters, animation - it’s all perfect. It’s been hard to revisit this one lately since most of the leading staff who worked on this show were killed in the arson attack last year. Fucking sucks to think about.

  • 20s: I should probably finish Eizouken

80's: Kiki's Delivery Service. I know I know it's a capitalist hellhole. But, idk it just makes me so fucking happy.

90's: This one's tough, I haven't even finished it yet, but I'm gonna have to say Sailor Moon cause I'm enjoying it so fucking much.

00's: School Rumble. No one has fucking heard of this anime. It's got a special place in my heart cause I binged all 60 episodes with my roommate after I lost my job.

10's: Madoka Magica. I really fucking love Madoka.

20's: idk, Tower of God maybe.

I could try and be cool and drop a bunch of revolutionary anime etc. But idk I've got basic tastes.

Basic taste is good! I used to be somewhat elitist or whatever up to my late teen years but now I try to look for anything positive shows can offer. Getting more into an art major/potential career probably helped with that. Anyway, what makes you happy makes you happy.
