    the other day I met a man who only works as a "contractor" taking jobs given to him over various apps. He had to be in constant contact with various managers, sending them photos proving he was doing the tasks they expected of him. He had already been doing that for over eight hours, and his phone was dead. He would charge it a little, so that he could unplug it, take the photos, then put it back to charge.

      What does this have to do with walkable cities. It sounds like a depressing product of the gig econony
