Semi related but I have this baseless theory that the reason why the whole Q thing becomes so big among righties is because the revelation that rich people are bastards to them clash so bad with their worldview that the rich are good hardworking people that it threw them into a crisis of faith. That's where Q comes in, which promises that the bad rich people are just the bad apples but rest assured that other rich people are still good.
It's wonderful how people use the phrase "just some bad apples" without making the connection with its root that said "a bad apple rots the entire lot"
