and who lost in the end? every time you see these nazi weapon glorification videos, always remember the soviet banner raised over berlin.
and who lost in the end
Frankly, sometimes I wonder who had truly won and who truly lost. USSR is no more. Meanwhile, Nazi descendants are out there on tv screens and media outlets, screeching like parrots with rabies about the "evils of communism". Not to mention that NATO still exists and causes immense suffering every day - and you know who co-created NATO. Federal Germany? Pretty much same as pre-war Germany. Meanwhile in former USSR, socialism is slandered and discredited.
Who lost indeed. I am no longer certain
USSR won. But the west, who supported fascism (if it didnt expand into their empires), won too, with lower losses.
I think it was zhukov that said "we defeated fascism and they will never forgive us for it". I may be misattributing the quote.
Commercial voice:
"PPSH-41: Turn Overmen into Undermen with one simple trick, since 1941. Nazis hate it!"
This same person would also vehemently deny any accusations of being a Nazi or a wehraboo. Or a racist for that matter
Negl I kinda prefer the Thompson's drum-gun build to the PPSH; but that's probs because I grew up seeing drum-mag'd tommies in mob films
while you're not wrong, i absolutely would bet on a tommy being easier for me in my conditions to lay hands on than a papa.
Honestly you could probably just build a Sten. There are full detailed guides online on how to build one, and that was literally their purpose, a gun you could build at home with minimal training and supplies you could find at a Home Depot.
Is it pretty? No. Will it shoot? Yes. Can you make it for less then 200 dollars? Also yes.
Gun had the one job of removing Russians, yet it failed. trash pipe
come on, it has been almost a hundred years already, and many hundred since Genghis Khan, yet westerns keep on insisting in the human wave.
is it to much to ask to not being racist for 15 seconds?
I mean, what was special about it? "Rush really quick to the capital"? Brilliant. No-one has ever thought about that, certainly not every cavalry ever.
You know what was special though? Deep operations.
Yup. For all the jerking off that military history nerds on YouTube do about German doctrines and tactics, it was actually the Soviets who were the real innovative thinkers of the 20th century. Even to this day the Pentagon itself admits that the best literature on the theory of combined arms warfare comes from Russian sources, NOT German ones. But this never seems to manage to get through to the "enthusiast" community.
And i mean, there should have been an indication of whose understanding of war was superior in the fact that it was the Soviets who won the war, not the Germans. So why do Westerners keep idealizing and worshipping the strategies and theories of LOSERS?!
not to mention that france was taken over quickly simply because most of the army were collaborators, and offered no resistance whatsoever.
more nazis were killed trying to capture a apartment in stalingrad than the whole takeover of france.
Pavlov's house momento (commanded by Lieutenant Afanasev tho)

Lmao this is a golden fucking line right here
They also fought to keep Algeria a colony far longer than they did not to become vichy.
Not exactly, the prussian warfare was all about outmaneuvering the enemy to have local numerical superiority. That way one could pull off relatively short and thus less destructive wars, by for example, capturing vital parts of the enemy nation.
The problem is you have to identify what is vital first. The nazi generals failed to do so in case of the USSR. Ironically Hitler got the right idea about the soviet vital areas. His generals thought that the capital was more important.
prussian warfare was all about outmaneuvering the enemy to have local numerical superiority
So it was well known long before Nazis and thus not revolutionary, yes?
Jup, nothing special on the strategy department. The Nazis understood the use of tanks and combine arms warfare sooner than theit initial opposition, of course also methamphetamine. Much easier outmaneuvering the other side when your soldiers can stay awake for days and march for almost as long.
The general staff did not sleep during the Weimar Period either, the invasion plans the Nazis later used (down to the number of divisions) were formulated back then already. However, the Weimar generals proposed execution during the 1950s.
I think they're pointing out how one man's Blitzkrieg is another man's "Mass Wave"
Thank you for the repost comrade.
For further context, the MG-34 was never used to “repel human waves”, not only because such attacks never existed, but also because the MG-34 was not designed for such a role and would have preformed horrifically. The MG-34 was designed as an LMG to give squads covering and suppressing fire while advancing, as the slow firing Kar98’s left German squads as sitting ducks. The problem comes is that if you fired the gun for more then 450 bullets continuously (or close enough to continuously) you were guaranteed to have the gun simply melt and at worst explode in your hands.
Further past 250 bullets the dispersion became so horrific as to become simply unusable, a massive problem as the MG-34 already had one of the worst dispersion rates known to man during ww2.
The MG34 was in conclusion hot garbage. There’s a reason the Germans rushed to replace as many as they could with the MG42. The gun itself is also only popular because they slapped them on tanks due to a design oversight where the MG42’s barrel holder opens to the side and not down, meaning that you couldn’t repair the gun while It was in the firing port.
