The prequels weren't popular, but sold well. The sequel trilogy has lead to a collapse in toy sales, they really thought those Porgs were gonna be big. The fall was so huge that they didn't even bother to scale production for Baby Yoda and were blindsided by the Mandalorian's popularity.
