At least stop putting old dead plant matter in your engines, put that carbonous goop back in the ground and, I dunno, use wood-fired engines as one did in 1941.
Yeah, search up wood gas generators, they were used a lot in Norway during ww2 cause the Germans hogged all the petrol. Basically, big stoves attached to a car with pipes leading into the engine.
