Barack Obama arrived in office on a huge mandate for change but appointed people who would ensure there wouldn't be any. Sam Seder and Thomas Frank discuss t...
A good summary of meritocracy, technocracy, populism, the failures of the DNC.
Libs still haven't taken a critical look at Obama, anything that can push this into liberal narrative spaces like "the majority report" is welcome. But yes, Thomas Frank was making these same arguments back in 2016 when his book critiquing the democrats "listen liberal" came out. From the tiny segments I can stomach, Sam still entertains the idea that "democrats mean well they’ve are just incompetent" so this will probably take a long time..
And they never will. Obama is literally their version of Reagan.
They have spent 12 years building a cult of personality around that man. He isn't the only one who was worried about his legacy, libs worried about it too. As far as it's concerned, Trump absolutely is part of his legacy, cause he led straight to him. Not enough is talked about with the Obama voters who switched to Trump in 2016. Even counting this election, Dems still squandered the senate and they lost several seats in the house, so Biden's victory really isn't all that.
Honestly, I'd rather a lot of these people kept their fantasy instead of shitting up the Left because they feel scorned. We don't need anymore ethereal bisexuals or "goth socialists" who just want the Obama 2008 platform with some extra goodies and extra speaking truth to power, man.

Jeez it's been 12 years already?
Sam has been sounding schizophrenic when I tune in recently. I don’t know how he believes what he believes about the Democrats.
Probably still angling for a spot at MSNBC
Whatever credibility MR had died with Michael Brooks
