I know that one of the core tenets of a capitalist economy is that it requires the existence of a state, contrary to what some "An"Caps and "Libertarians" claim, but I'd like to further understand the interdependence of the state-capitalr relationship. Are there any good places to start? Videos and books and pods are all valid.

State and Revolition by Lenin is pretty much about this. It even goes over how the form of the State arose to begin with, since it predates capitalism, and what the conditions of its dissolution would be.

Thanks; I read State what feels like ages ago, so it probably slipped out since. Anything published more recently given the greater complexities of our fiat currency economies, the federal reserve, taxation, etc?

This one I haven't read yet, so I'm not sure if it treats to topic of the state directly, but maybe "Monopoly Capital: An Essay on the American Economic and Social Order"? It's from the 60s I think
