I have been watching this guys vlogs and mini docs for awhile now and i really like how humble he is when speaking about his own growth in martial arts compared to most. Give him a watch.

I think Ramsey Dewey came to a similar conclusion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ue1bslf7A44

In my headcanon, an incredibly small amount of people with knives are looking for a fight. I try to keep a minimalist wallet that, while annoying and shitty to lose, wouldn't be the run killer it could be. $20, a trip to the DMV and a call to the credit card company is a much smaller pain than going to the hospital (or being dead). There's nothing on my cheap phone that isn't on the cloud or locked behind a password. Again, a few hours of scrambling and resetting passwords, but my identity should still be mine. This is to say that I would rather be mugged than have to defend from a knife 99 times out of 100 and the other 1 is the one where I feel like I could run away.

Chapos are a special case because you could very well run into a guy with a knife looking for a fight. You could be in a protest! Some dumbass shithead loser could very well come in with a knife. You need to be in a group, not get separated, and you need to be aware of your surroundings. It would be more of the same op sec that got you to a protest without identifiable features showing or a phone in your pocket. It's a really unfortunate reality because you don't win a fight because your opponent is twitching in a pool of their own blood, you win a fight when you get to go home afterward. I'm not a good person to comment on how to deal with the in-the-moment what to do of a martial response to a knife, but I imagine trying to find a trash can/chair/something to make distance between you and the attacker and have friends try to subdue the attacker at a range.

Rokas himself has an incredible story. He works so hard and gets so immersed in martial arts. It's wonderful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KUXTC8g_pk

If a person is willing to use a knife in a fight then they're probably a cold blooded psycho looking to actually kill someone. It's way too personal of a way to maim someone. So unless you're cornered (in which case you need to sacrifice the outside of your for a forearms to keep the knife from cutting something vital or use an object to keep him at a distance) the only option is to run.

Knives are absolutely scary. The best, most martially sound thing to do is get the fuck out of there...
