Imagine noticing a fucking extinction event thousands of years in advance, and only saving like 0.1% of the population. And imagine saying this is a remotely positive thing. Like, I'm not saying you can save everyone, but this is just blatant at this point. Idk. Their overpopulation video is objectively bad because the message is Africans should stop having babies, but most of their videos are just interesting topics. I don't give a shit what happens to our solar system in 5 billion years, but it's cool to think about. We don't have to hate everything.
I mean, yes, entertainment is what it is, but you can't help but start noticing patterns here and there. While kurzgesagt is clearly a channel I'll keep watching, some of the videos have some ideological stuff underneath, and should not be watched without a critical eye. The guy is literally funded by the Gates too, and thus won't propose radical solutions to things like climate change or poverty. They're clearly not on the level of "Biographics" or whatever the channel is called as an example, but I won't trust them to give a balanced view on matters that'd require moving away from capitalism.
Absolutely not. I don't trust any mainstream well funded youtube channel for insight on the excesses and immorality of capitalism. I view all content with a critical eye. But a video on how humanity could survive a star entering the inner solar system and ejecting earth into deep space idgaf.
The initial condition is a sort of tacit acknowledgement of the sunk cost fallacy that plagues the capitalist inteligencia, that is then quelled by an influx of capital and bolstering of the idea that anyone can make it. The ones that don't are hidden forever an either become leftists like us, live in their contradictions, or sell their labor to a successful project. Worst case they just ceace to exist by their own hand.
