  • No, I am absolutely not blaming feminism as a cause for the rise of MRA stuff, what I am saying is that it is used nowadays as a strawman by the alt right, regardless of truth. They'll pick actual misandrists as examples of your average feminist, and tell others : "look, they wanna take your benis". And it works.

Again, if you have a better solution without ditching the term or whatever, then I am all ears. I find it somewhat unsurprising the term has been picked up by the shitheads, but regardless of names or whatever, the underlying issues absolutely remain for both men and women, and I sometimes wish feminism would have far better optics. Try as a man, to call yourself a feminist (which is my case), and see other men's reactions, they will generally be mixed in some circles such as work or family.

CIA and MI6 supporting fascist groups

Some things never change, and likewise, history is going to repeat itself with the great depression episode 2 : corona boogaloo. And lets be real honest here : a "Years of Lead" scenario is the best case scenario for the USA (and Europe).

  • I found it again. Or I think so, because that shit has happened several times apparently, and I don't remember which one hit r/france. The article says the march was anti-austerity, so yes, I think I am justified in saying barring men from participating is not only a bad look, but also pretty fucking stupid from a tactical point of view.

I just hope one day these will stop, but liberalism sips into everything, so I won't get my hopes up. :/

  • Not that much of a hot take. Gender egalitarianism or something similar would be so much better from a "marketing" point of view towards men. Conversely, having some self-described feminists doing some misandry always sticks out quite badly; not that it is common, but holy shit there are some very fucking weird people claiming that label, and these people are very vocal about their beliefs, thus giving a very bad name to feminism. Like as an example, there was a march against sexual violence, and literally cis hetero white men were forbidden to attend. I fail to see how the fuck do you advocate for political change in a country, and alienate like 40% of the population outright. Another time was a feminist I met on Tinder, literally said outright all men were trash, like yea, I don't enjoy getting insulted for things outside of my control. Feminism has to go through a rebranding of some kind, cos some optics are absolutely horrible with these people stealing an otherwise noble label.

  • Don't fucking tell me about it. "What, you haven't picked up any new skills from lockdown ? No languages learned ? No physical progress ? Didn't try an instrument or whatever ? Damn you fucking suck, you will end up as a destitute pariah and a leech on society." The people who unironically think this should be put on a high-priority list for the gulags, as they often are unironic supporters of neoliberalism. People are ready to do something when they are flipping ready, and not one second before. Some don't want to partake in capitalism at all, and I sure won't blame anyone for that.

Oh yea, and my "funiest" experience while dating was to find the ULTIMATE centrist : someone who didn't want to date a radical. When I asked her why, she just said she wanted people moderate in every aspect. Why are people like that ? :agony-limitless:

It's sad to see some good posters go, but see it that way : it's most likely temporary, chapo has a huge potential with its formula, the wreckers are going to be a thing regardless of the userbase's size, so once a more permanent way to secure the site against raids is found, there's no reason for the site to feel unsafe for trans folks.

Besides, drops in activity are normal. The election season is over, and people are absolutely burned out because of Biden's victory. We are still more active than some mainstream subreddits, so there's that.

Dating sucks, it's an universal fact at this point. See it this way : if you're a woman, you'll get insane amounts of likes and profiles, and most of it will be trash. If you're an average-looking man, you'll be looking at the void when it comes for matches. But there's more to it than that, I think society as a whole has become less and less compatible with long-term relationships and goals, so good luck finding someone who won't ghost.

There's still hope however, don't give up just yet, because you only need to get lucky once; and in the meantime, enjoy being free to live your life as you please. :unity:

On one hand, I will never not cheer for right wingers getting their heads bashed-in. On the other, hoo boy, that's fucking bad. I pity the libs who think these guys will magically stop being violent, and return to "civility" like "before".
