This game is pretty cool but the imperialist propaganda is grating. I looked up the original Rainbow 6 book and the protagonist is a CIA operative who forms a NATO counter-terrorism group, Rainbow (because they’re so diverse). The bad guys are a group of left wing eco terrorists. At the end, since there won’t be enough evidence to convict the terrorists, he strips them naked and leaves them in the middle of the Amazon to die (since they love nature so much). American culture is so cool, Tom Clancy is our hero.

    God, I loved the splinter cell games as a kid. Maybe only played the first 2 or 3, in one you basically kill Che, it's so shit looking back, good stealth game play though, IIRC. There was also a ghost recon game where I think there's a coup in Russia putting the soviets back in power? Wonder where that idea came from. I remember the last mission you're in Moscow and they put the Russian tricolor back up and it's so celebratory. If only I knew, where's the assassinate Yeltsin game we deserve? And finally I recently discovered my roommate had a 360 in the closet, and visiting another friend borrowed a couple games. Some Forza game that is made for mountain dew chugging dweebs (sorry) and Splinter Cell, I think Blacklist.

    The opening sequence are Russians taking over an American military base (America does no wrong, it's only foreigners who bring us down) and then a broadcast pointing out there are American bases in over 100 countries, and if those troops aren't brought back in like 100 days then bad stuff happens. That's it. That's the plot, your motivator. And I'm there like, how can I help them? It's no surprise Tom Clancy was a chud and his brand is chud shit, I just can't believe how much of that went over my head or was even internalized as a kid, and that brand is still out there brainwashing g*mers. Pretty sad ngl.

    Imagine if the Soviet Union were still around and games were coming out. I mean it may just by VR tetris but if there were games with left wing ideology being produced by a major studio in the Eastern bloc, god damn baby. We could be playing kulak krusher 8 rn.
