This game is pretty cool but the imperialist propaganda is grating. I looked up the original Rainbow 6 book and the protagonist is a CIA operative who forms a NATO counter-terrorism group, Rainbow (because they’re so diverse). The bad guys are a group of left wing eco terrorists. At the end, since there won’t be enough evidence to convict the terrorists, he strips them naked and leaves them in the middle of the Amazon to die (since they love nature so much). American culture is so cool, Tom Clancy is our hero.
I remember when I was a kid there was a controversy over a public figure using the word "removedrdly" in public and catching shit for it. Not sure which book it was, but following the controversy, Clancy used the word no less than two dozen times as a fuck you it's technically not the n-word. Dude was a grade-a shit pile.
